Frequently Asked Questions
Can I start page numbering from a number other than 1?
The current version starts page numbering from 1 on the first page of the document. Custom starting numbers (e.g. starting from page 5 or Roman numerals for front matter) are not available in this version.
Can I skip the first page (cover page) when adding numbers?
The tool applies numbering to every page including the first. If you need to skip a cover page, a workaround is to split the first page off using the Extract Pages tool, add numbers to the remaining pages, then merge the cover page back at the beginning.
Will page numbers overlap with existing content?
Page numbers are placed in the margin area of the page — outside the main content area. If your PDF has content that extends to the very edge of the page with no margin (unusual but possible in some designs), there may be overlap. Standard office documents and reports with normal margins will not have this issue.
